Biography

Andreas graduated in 2013 from the University of Sheffield's School of Architecture (SSoA) with a BA in Architecture and worked until 2014 as an Architectural Assistant at MSMR Architects in London. He has held a Visiting Researcher position at the University of Cyprus and at the UN OHCHR's RTCYPP. He is currently studying towards a MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Cambridge.

Research

My thesis titled 'Terra Nullius: questioning normality', questions the idea of normality in the conflict of Nicosia and argues for urban rapprochement tactics as the next step towards reunification. Abstract, pilot thesis and more information about the thesis can be found here. Also see my fieldwork logbook here for updates from the field.

During my time at UCR I have been involved with mapping urban conflicts in Baghdad, Sarajevo and Derry as well as carrying out background research for cities in the Middle East, Eastern and North-Western Europe to be included in a forthcoming publication.
