Roberto Cherubini,
Department of Architecture, La Sapienza University of Rome

This lecture was delivered as part of the 'Metamorphoses of the Contemporary City' International Graduate Workshop in Cambridge.

‘Docks Reloaded’ addresses architectural projects called to give a new identity to port cities. The theme is the relationship between the city and water. Docks Reloaded collects projects that CSIAA* studio has worked on since 2003: The Museum of Nautical Crafts in Freiburg, Lower Saxony; The Harbour area of Palermo ; the ferry terminal in Fiumicino ; the bay of Las Palmas ; the urban area of the ord of Akureyri in Iceland ; Belgrade across the Danube ; The Old Harbour of Valencia afterthe America's Cup.

*CSIAA is a think tank for architecture, urban and landscape design, able to work out of the common highline, accompanying its design activity with individually structured public debates, research and publications. First established in the year 1999 in Rome as Centro Studi Interdisciplinari sull'Architettura e sull'Ambiente, soon better known shortly as CSIAA , it is today a free association of architects and designers of different age and experience, working in variable formations and leaded by Roberto A. Cherubini.
