The African Heritage Challenges: Development and Sustainability conference co-organised by UCR's Dr. Britt Baillie featured a panel dedicated to HERITAGE AND THE 'AFROPOLIS'.

The city was a leitmotif throughout the conference featuring in three of the keynote lectures, and papers on Durban, Tshwane and Asmara.
